TEDU and Çankaya Municipality Student Residence is Opened

 

The student residence established under the cooperation of TED University and Çankaya Municipality, with a capacity of 420 beds is opened with a ceremony. CHP General Vice Presidents, CHP Party Councillors, deputies, TED University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Tarıcmılar, faculty members and students participated the opening ceremony hosted by Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen and TED University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Pehlivalıoğlu. Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen made the opening speech and stated “In an area of commercial centers, residences in other words an area of profit, we preferred to devote our premises to our young people. Because we know that the best investment for a country is the investment done on the young generations.”

TED University Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Seşçuk Pehlivanlıoğlu also made a speech and stated, “This student residence which we have established together with Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who is also a TED community member, brought strength to our university. I would like to express our thanks to Mr. Taşdelen and everyone who have contributed to the realisation our project.”

The student residence located at the Mustafa Kemal District has a capacity of 420 beds. The mixed residence is composed of two separate blocks. The construction of the residence was completed in only 10 months time and includes study rooms, social spaces, dispensary and a cafeteria.
